Case Study
This project addressed the employability of rural Thai youth and sought to increase income for local crafts makers by holding a training for 20 youths on IT and business skills development. The training focused on techniques to identify marketable products within the community and use websites to sell the products online.
Project Outcomes and Impacts
- The training was attended by youth and adult members of local occupational groups who wanted to sell their products online
- Two youth and a sub-district government employee met and identified local products that could be of interest to buyers. A number of websites were identified to make the products available to foreign customers.
- Two youth agreed to use Thai websites to advertise snacks and other local products to Thai customers.
- A government employee who attended the training will work specifically with a local woman’s crochet group to advertise and sell their products online
